Here is a "Brains" Users guide, more to show how to use the Brains IDE, and show the work arounds for current buggy and flaky stuff.

Small correction to the above guide........

TCP Modbus:  there is only 128 (0-127) words PER config!!! so that means (64x128 = 8192) total words.......

the "Old" original modbus config screen (non-plugin), at least according to the trajplanner, was limited to a total of 1024 in, and 1024 out.

Ed Bryson and I where arguring over the Trajplanner stuff, and came to find out that you are limited to 128 words per config, (per the limits impossed by the Modbus spec itself).  Not a big deal for most, as most will not have more than 128 inputs or outputs in a single config anyway.....
