Servo motor configuration
« on: August 23, 2006, 07:32:09 PM »

Is anybody knows how to hookup the servo motors with Mach3? How many pins are needed to control one amplifier of the servo motor?

I have five servo motors and two parallel ports in my computer. Is the Mach3 is powerful enough to handle all the five servo motors?

Thanks a lot!

Hi, Eric Ma

Your servo controls need to be step and direction, 10 pins for this,Mach3 would work fine.

Hope this Helps, Chip

Hi Chip:
The wiring of the amplify for a servo motor is pretty complicated

I am working on the Yaskawa servo motors. There are 50 connectors in amplifies terminal.

Could you please direct me that which two connectors should be wired to the two parallel pins?

I am very appreciated your help!

Eric

Eric,

This is the example given for the Sigma Series Yaskawa.

You have to set these drives up for this operation with the drive software also.
