"Cut Keyway" Issues (2.82)
« on: March 16, 2009, 10:57:15 AM »
I have found that the above NFW (2.82) does not "turn on" the spindle or coolant when posting to my Tormach. The feed and speed info is correct on the Mach screen. Eveything else works fine.

Is this a known issue? Does this also occur w/ other Wizards?

This happens if you use tool 0. The wizards try to be clever and not do needless commands. They check to see if the last tool used is the same as the current one, if so it skips the M3 and M6 stuff.

I fixed this in most places, and have a couple more fixes in 2.83. I got stalled in testing it and have not finished. I will try to get it checked out and post it in a day or two. Most of the changes have to do with the new comp code.

Another issue with the cut keyway - when I set the step to 1mm and the ramp to 0 the output will only increment in 0.0785mm steps and it still ramps across the whole cut. I tried a 16 mm cutter start xy0 and end x0y6 with a 6.5mm depth in 1mm increments.

yOU also have to turn ON the coolant option at the TOOL section screen. IF you do not the NFW code will NOT include the M8 to turn on coolant.
