OK....I need a CNC mill.
I've got plenty AC servos and drives.
Also have an older Bridgeport that need the ways ground/scraped. 2 to 3 K $. ? ? ?
It would also need ballscrews. 1 K $
Then all of the "other" work.
OR:
Buy a CNC mill. Either ready to go... ? ? ? K $...or buy an older one and retro it.
There's gads of Boss's and other 20+ year old knee mills out there for 2 K $ or less. But you get what you get.
    Might need who knows what... ?
At the very least, if I redo the one I have, I'll know the ways and screws would be new.
Not looking for auto tool change for this one.
Going nuts.
Any input would be therapeutic.

RC, most of the older CNC  knee mills tend to be  fairly decent condition due to the fact that they had automatic oilers and usually if the oil ran low the next cycle wouldnt start until it was topped up.
Suppose it depends on the type of stuff you do now and more importantly what you will be doing in the future but if its much more than light-medium duty then a manual Bridgeport is not really up to it and to be honest the series 1 Rigid ram CNC arent much stiffer.
 Bed mill with plenty of weight would be my first choice but afraid headroom stops me from getting anything like that so the Beaver NC5 was the next best option, just got to get it finished

  I guess they were chromed also ? ?
I have the same "space" requirements as you, also limited to 220v 3PH through a converter.
I can see the rigidity being/becoming a problem too.
I wish I could afford/justify the mill I really want. 
This would be an entry level machine. No heavy cutting or super fast cycles.
Don't want to invest too much right now either.
We will be going downhill for at least 4 years ....maybe 8 .
I'll keep looking and asking around.
