Scaling Question...Issues
«

Hi, Just purchased the Chinese 3040 as a back up to our Dahlgren...We use Engravelab...
For the 3040
The issue seems to be this...If we set a template 2 x 8....Save it....Convert the code etc.....
what is happening is that 2 x 8 is now 6 x 24......any suggestions as to keeping the scale 1:1 ratio?

As it is 3x size you could try setting the Scale DRO's for the X and Y axes to 0.3333

Once you have established the exact scale factor it can always be incorporated into your Gcode with the G51 / G50 commands - this saves having to set the DRO's each time.

I don't really understand just why you have a scale issue with the 3040 - have you checked the Mach3 Steps per Unit are correct ?
Run through the Axis Calibration routine - Settings (Alt-6) page just to check you have them set correctly.

Thank you, Yes...I will check...have to figure out the Z Depth as well...for nameplates and brass embossers...on the Dahlgren, we have a depth setting in the spindle ...but you have been most helpful much appreciated
