Modifying the value in Probing DROs
« on: September 10, 2024, 07:53:16 PM »
I am confused.  If I go Probing/Settings and try to modify the G code: G DRO to 31.2, it keeps reverting back to 31.0. I assume this setting is modifiable since as far as I know it is the only way to tell the probe routine in the GUI where to look for the probe signal.  Actually, none of the fields in the Probe tab are modifiable.  Is this normal behavior or do I have something else going on.  I have spent way too much time examining parameters in the screen editor and scrips and machine.ini to find the answer to such a simple question.  Please, am I not seeing the forest for the trees? Can someone just verify in a mill screen set what their behavior is when trying to modify any of the probing fields?  Thanks!

Hi,
you are confusing the on-screen DRO with the register that holds the value. Even if you change the on-screen DRO it will display
what you have set only until such time as the screen script runs and the DRO is re-populated with the true value in the register.
If you want to edit the value then find the register and edit that. Thereafter the DRO will display it.
