Panning around the Tool path sceen

Is there any way to pan around the tool path screen?  all I can do is zoom and free rotate.

Left + right mouse buttons and drag.

Dang!  I thought I tried everything!  shift , control spacebar.  Held the wheel down etc.  Never thought of both buttons!
