hi all-
finally joined the forum! we've been working on a home-brewed cnc vertical mill that has a work envelope comparable (or larger) to a sieg x3 that can be disassembled, can fit into a car trunk, has a total materials cost of $1000 or so, and with accuracies of +/-0.001".
we were planning on using a x2 motor/controller but may just go with their spindle and use another motor/controller and have it all run via nc. this is just a prototype for now so it's pretty rough, but promising!
