Is it possible to run mach3 from a USB port? It's getting harder to find computers with DB25 connectors.
Thanks,

General Mach Discussion / Re: need to close a circuit with g-code

Thanks Hood,

So I would use M8 to turn coolant mist on and M9 to turn all coolant off, correct? How do i assign the the pins for this? I do not see "Mist on" and "All coolant off" in the pin outputs section. Thank you!!! -jim

I would like to repeatedly close a circuit  using g-code. What is the best way to accomplish this? I want to activate a pneumatic cylinder during the program.

Thanks,

General Mach Discussion / Re: hooking up mach3

Thanks Hood,

The problem was the laptop. I guess that time I submerged it in water and then stepped on it did some damage. I tried a different computer and everything works fine. Surprising cause everything else seems to work.

General Mach Discussion / hooking up mach3
« on: August 24, 2011, 07:07:38 AM »
I have hooked up mach3 several tiems, but for some reason I am having difficulty this time.  I have pins 2 & 6 hooked to -step and -direction (in that order), and a return wire running from +step and +direction to pin 24. Should I set the configuration for high or low? Am I missing something?

Thanks,
-jim

General Mach Discussion / NEMA 23 and 34 motor mount G-code
« on: February 05, 2011, 07:05:55 PM »
Does anyone have g-code for cutting NEMA 23 and NEMA34 motor mounts? This would cut a recessed circle and the four mounting holes.

thanks,

Umm, I'm a bit confused. I understand G-54 through G-59. To use any of the additional 254 offsets I would do exactly what?  I'm a novice so please be specific.
