General Mach Discussion / Re: Different use of Mach3 (dispensing)
« on: June 03, 2010, 03:45:53 PM »
I was thinking of using the pump with a stepper motor. Call it axis A,you could program in dispensing rates, suck-back, etc. You could also use parametric code to alter the flowrate along a run, ie ramp up and down.

Did you start from dead centre of the helix? It doesn't like that.

If you really don't want limit switches, disable them in the inputs config page.

best to cancel before toolchanges and reapply afterwards then - both tool diameters and lengths. ok :)

Hi,

If a manual toolchange is called (M6 T2) and G41 and G43 are already in effect, after a lead-out and lead-in move to get the spindle in position for actual toolchanging, will the new offsets be applied for the following cuts?

I know G41 and G42 use the values of the tool in the spindle (as shown on the "run" screen) if no offsets are specified in the code, but does G43 use a similar strategy or do i have to tell it which tool slot to get its length offset from? As ever, thanks in advance :)

Feature Requests / Re: G-code line limit in the demo versions
« on: May 31, 2010, 09:42:50 AM »
that's the beauty of handwritten code, it's so small. My mill is licensed but at the same time, any of my programs could run on the unlicensed version because of compact coding.

My stab-in-the-dark guess is that the line limit is there to prevent bulky CAM generated code from being translated without paying for the license ;)

this lad is selling Art's manual for £3 when as we know it's available here for free ... who to contact? I've notified ebay already.

Tangent Corner / Re: Looking for someone with home CNC in Dorset UK
« on: May 31, 2010, 07:58:00 AM »
I'm miles away from Dorset but there may well be local machining shops who could do this work at little cost. what shape apertures are they? size and shape of boxes, number of boxes, tolerances, end use etc. would be useful info. Awaiting your reply :)

I think they just get drunk, fall in and drown. Quite a way to go! also works for slugs, bury a jam jar with 2" of beer in it just up to neck level. In they go, and then it's goodbye to alll that.
