« on: July 10, 2006, 04:48:36 PM »
Brian is there any chance you can put left, right and central tool offset options in lazycam. It would be good to select climb mill and tool offset left to cut an outside of a shape!! I keep scrapping my luvly carbon fibre bits off, have tried editing the program with G41/G42 but things just dont come out right.  ;D

General Mach Discussion / Laptop problems??
« on: July 08, 2006, 08:37:04 AM »
Mach3 runs on my laptop reasonably well but is not perfect. The driver test is all over the place on it. I ran the driver test on my new dell dimension 5150c desktop and it is almost a perfect flat line and 25k pulses per second. I would like to use the desktop but it does not have a printer port. Is there any way around this? cheers  ::)

Here is the setup I am using...

Motor outputs:

X- step pin 3   dir pin 2
Y- step pin 5   dir pin 4
Z- step pin 7   dir pin 6
A- step pin 9   dir pin 8

input signals:

Estop pin 15

On config-slave axis: X is primary A is slave.

On config-logic: deselect A axis is angular

Eventually got my machine working and cutting, tested using the engrave wizard in mach3. The software works great!!

It is a really well built quality machine but the PCNC software I received was the dos version which is terrible. I dont think it is worth spending an extra 756Euro for the windows version!! Stick with mach. I have got the axis jogging around now with mach3 so am getting there.

General Mach Discussion / 2 motors driving x axis on router
« on: July 01, 2006, 05:33:45 PM »
I have 2 motors driving the x axis and they have a seperate plug each into the controller. what do i need to do to get them running in sync. Do I set up a new axis, say the A axis? or should they both be driven from the x axis setup? I dont want 1 motor to move on its own and pull the router gantry accross!! ???
