LazyCam (Beta) / Help with a few commands
« on: July 04, 2008, 02:41:45 PM »
I looked over the LazyCam video tutorial but as best I can tell, I think it didn't cover a few items.
If you watch the video closely I think the video shows the toolpath display being rotate in 3 dimensions so you can see heights as well. How is that accomplished? SOmeone else posted how to do the pan and zoom. It wasn't covered either.
I created a file with several holes to be drilled. I have set all the parameters for a drill but if I look at the generated G-code using NCplot and the toolpath betwen the holes does not have any Z-axis lift. How do I get it to lift the drill betwen holes?n The lift is present betwen milling porcedures ok.
Which leads me to the quetion what are the button functions "drill Sel circles" and "Drill Rad circles" supposed to do. I think I selected all the points (circles in dxf) where I needed holes drilled and pressed the "drill sel circles" button for them. It seemed to convert them to points which makes sense (I guess).
I think there are a few other un-explained buttons like "leads off", "Rem points" maybe someone can explain.

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Re: Newbie questions... Lazy Cam/Mach 3

How do you un-zoom in lazy cam?  I used the "Zoom Box" button but I can't figure out out to get back to full screen. The video tutorial is good but glosses over some of this kind of really simple stuff.
Also I don't recall the video talking about the "drill sel circles" , "drill rad circles" "optimise" "leads off", "rem points" , shift drw" buttons and proably a lot of other stuff that Murphy would dictate that I need to know  :)

There's going to be as many guesses as there are chips. Who's going to count them.

My guess is 2,876,543
