Sorry,
The plugin only supports one Galil board at a time. The selection is included so that you can setup multiple galil controllers for several machines, but you can only run one at a a time, unless you have ethernet controllers and configure them as master slave. But we haven't tested them in that configuration.

Galil / Re: DMC-2030 for lathe
« on: June 28, 2010, 08:17:02 AM »
Mike,
As luck would have it, we are going to set up a 2040 on a router and see how well it works out. I have also seen the controllers on EBAY and appreciate the value, if we can get them working satisfactorily. It should take about a week to get them running and tested. I'll get back to you then.
Cheers,
Kenny

Mike,
My attempts so far use the ECAM table of Galil to do the threading, so it should work on your controller. My lathe is about a month away from running too. There will need to be lots of testing done as there are several different ways needed depending on which Galil control you have. Please get back to me when your lathe is running and I will get you a threading plugin to test.
Thanks,
Kenny

Please be careful.
I have used the USB version to drive a 3 axis system, but I was not doing anything very creative with it. The plugin for Galil doesn't have any real world testing with threading yet as my lathe isn't completed. If you are doing basic turning, you may be OK though.

Sorry,
No progress to report at this time. I could use some help determining what needs to happen.
Thanks,

Matt,
Setup the S axis in the plugin as the spindle instead of the W axis.
Please let me know how you make out.

Tiny,
I use that same pendant. I can send you some brain files that work better. I will need a day or so to package them up along with some wiring and setup information. Please PM me with your e-mail and I will send them along.

Kenny

Tiny,
I need to know more about your MPG (model etc) and the brain files that you are using before I can answer your question. Can you provide that information to me?
Thanks,
Kenny

Tiny,
I gave up on the poor performance of the MPG through the other port and that's why I wrote the MPG into the Galil plugin. It's well worth the extra wiring effort. Just ask anyone who uses it.

Galil / Re: Mach3 + Galil

montabelli,
Trajectory planning is done by Mach3. The Galil handles the movements in 16ms slices, using the Mach axis profile data as its source. Works very well for me here.
