General Mach Discussion / Suggestion
« on: July 15, 2006, 11:17:51 AM »
I messed up a part today doing something stupid.  I'm hopeing you can help.
When i hit the "goto zero" inthe run program screen the x&y move started long  before the Z.  Braged across part broke bit etc etc.  Shouldn't the z move complete to a "safe" postion before moving the X&Y.  this may change based on which axis you define as primary move axzis. ???  Your thoughts

LazyCam (Beta) / Cutter comp Issue
« on: July 10, 2006, 01:01:37 PM »
Attached are two files (dxf and tap).  During run progam i get an error on line N70.  It looks like the cutter is getting too close to the next edge.  error says "Tool radius no less than arc radius with comp on line numbe(message get cut off).  Have a look.

Lots of progress on the last update. Good work

LazyCam (Beta) / One problem one suggestion
« on: July 10, 2006, 11:34:19 AM »
Problem - in LZ anytime when i try moving the origin i get MS error that kicks me out of the program.  Did not see it in the release from version 1.90.62,  I find it this morning with the new download??????

Suggestion - is it possible to create another chain when you convert  small holes to drill cycle.  this would allow different feed parameter for the setup.

Something else - when creating drill holes i have to go turn off each lead in individually.  slow if there are a lot or holes.  The inside layer control option should turn them all off.  then I could convert the holes to drill holes.  Then use option to turn remaining layer lead in back on.

What do you think.

LazyCam (Beta) / New problem after G80
« on: June 28, 2006, 04:58:44 PM »
Attached is the DXF and Tap file i've been working on today.
converted holes to dirll.  Program gets lost.  Line N100 should have a G1 after the G80 cancels the canned cycle.  I've had this happen onseveral files with 2.54 whe i change to drill.

Fantastic work on the program.  Getting much better with each release.

Now silly questions
??? is there a zoom  or pan in LZ.
When i select a tool does LZ take in to account the cutter radius automatically or do i have to add  G40 to G42 in my code.

LazyCam (Beta) / Another suggestion

Your gonna get real tired of me i can tell.
How hard would it be to put a button onthe right hand side that rotated  the file by 90 degrees.

LazyCam (Beta) / LC 2.54
« on: June 27, 2006, 09:41:56 AM »
Nice job thanks for all the great changes.

I must be doing somethng wrong, cause i seem to have a lot more toruble than others.

Found a couple of things that puzzle me.
1. once the Gcode file is in Mach 3 i cannot get it back in LZ.
2  Something is strange about the strainght leading option.  IT make funny things happen with the arcs.  Don't have the problem with arc leadins
3 minor annoyance - when working with layer command lead ins are turned on off every time you tab l across field.  I think it should require an input.

I've loaded a couple of tries on the same file so you can see.

LazyCam (Beta) / suggestion
« on: June 19, 2006, 04:33:33 AM »
could you set line numbers to increment by two or four so we can add lines without renumbering everyone.
for that matter a renumber command would be nice.

LazyCam (Beta) / I'm missing somthng
« on: June 18, 2006, 09:39:34 AM »
Brian somewhere im missing something and need some help.
I'm sending two files to you with simple DXF and Output Gcode.
before starting LZ i have tool number 1 with dia .25 (system set to inch), 0 tool height offset.
open LZ change holes to drill.
Layer control
tool = 1
final depth = -.25
rapid height =.25
start height = 0

Load G-code to Mach3
bring tool to work surface
zero all coordnates

start part

???? why in line N9 does it try to cut at +.15 not at - 25.
When it drills the holes the machien does go to -.25
puzzled  ???

General Mach Discussion / Problem with Setup Screen
« on: June 14, 2006, 03:13:29 PM »
Having a little trouble with the Alt5 setup screen.  When I put in a value for the Diameter of the edge finder (.200) the coordinate system only jumps .050".  I think is should read .100 instead.
Am  I doing something wrong or
Did i misunderstand the use of the setup tool or
Is the math routine wrong. ???
