I have seen the video where mach was running a mill at 60ipm but i think that is going to be way to fast for my level i was thinking maybe around 20ipm or less at the very most ill be cutting mainly 1018 steel some aluminum with various cutters  iwas going to try the us digital 500 cpr what do you think  it is just a 9x42 bridgeport with hiwin ballscrews i installed nothing fancy

Hi i have almost buttoned up my stepper plasma table now im working on my mill  i have the rutex servo drives and 29" nema42 servo motors i have a question i was told that you cant run 2000 line encoders with mach3 is this true i was told that it would run real slow i need to get 500 cpr  . the reason im asking this is because i allready have the 2000 line encoders they came with my motors just wanted to make sure before i purchase some new encoders
Thanks JOhn

General Mach Discussion / Re: problems with homing on slaved axis a to x
« on: January 22, 2007, 11:35:05 AM »
ok i have upgraded to the very latest version of mach got rid of my 2 dollar switches and got some decent ones  this is by far in my opinion the easiest way to square your table just move a switch forward or back i sprayed down some blueing on a 4x4 piece of sheet metal  lathed out a 1-3/8 scribe to fit in my torch holder and started squaring  i know this is off the subject but it just seems the newest version of mach runs better on my machine then 1.9.0011
