General Mach Discussion / calculation for using Pulley
« on: October 15, 2009, 06:56:55 PM »
Hello,

I would like to use pulley in order to double the speed of my machine.

The small one is a 14 teethed pulley which attached to the transmission screw of 5mm pitch.
The bigger or wider pulley is fixed on the motor (pas à pas) 200 step per revolution.
And also I have Gecko drive that is rated to 10 micro step.

How could I calculate the steps units for motor tuning please?

Thanks
Robhi

Hello, thanks for replying..

Here is a screenshot as well as a copy of mach3 turn XML.
But I have know idea about:-
Robhi
Can you post a screenshot of the toolpath, could be a few things, first is your IJ
mode, second could be reversed arcs in front toolpost and possibly even you need a
G2 rather than a G3 or vice versa.

Hood

Thanks again

General Mach Discussion / mach3 bahaves badly
« on: September 06, 2009, 03:36:03 PM »
hello,
I have some problem when turning wood with my mach3..

I programme M piecework with maystercam design, sometimes I use circle to get some kind of shapes to make my piecework.. then I delete the half of the circle for example.etc... but the problem is mach3 sees always the circle but not as arcs, and once it cuts completely my piecework.

anybody know where the problem is?
thanks Robhi

General Mach Discussion / Re: Spindle?

Hello,

I can not convert the step per revolution into degrees.. how could I do that?

My motor is coupled directly to the chuck..I have a normal stepper motor, as well as G201.

Forth axis works well, but it turns three or four times, more than 360°.....
thank you for your help

Hello,
thanks again for all you.

that is really what I need.

I have my forth axis. it (i guess) works well. at any rate it turns as the other axes. I have no Programme (GCode) to test it.
But I guess it must work. question is:-

how could I configure it , in order to work in degree? I mean, if I would like to turn my workpiece into 90° or 45° , or the cam will do it itself?

Hoping I am a little bit clear.
