Hi Hood,

This is a very helpful tutorial video of setting tools on a lathe. Keep seeing people asking just about that every now and then. Sure the video will help many. May be the link could be put under Members Docs section or something.

Hood,

Threading looks very good! Thanks for the video. In fact, it even looks better than with the SS - seems like it starts a pass quicker than with SS which has some delay (as well as the PP) till it gets in sync with the index.

By the way, your Conect seems a capable little machine, cutting a 2mm pitch thread!

I like the solution you came up with for switching between jogging and MPG. That should be fine.

This is great news with the threading, Hood. Thanks for posting. Hope those minor issues get sorted too sometime soon.

Got a CSMIO IP/A with the MPG and threading module last week. Plan to use it on the lathe. Don't know when I will actually get to do this though as I have a lot of work to do first.

What I didn't like from your description above is the lack of ability to use jog keys in conjunction with MPG as I am used to having jog keys. Or is it only when a limit switch is tripped?

I reported this to Brian about a year ago on the Yahoo group (was also broken when I was in G41/G42 mode) and it's been worked on by him. It did get fixed a few versions back (3.043.057 as per the change log), but I still see it here now and again (ver 062 here), but not sure why sometimes it works and other not. I did notice that it goes hand in hand with another problem where the toolpath window doesn't highlight the cut path. These both appear or disappear together. And it can happen in the same session with the same gcode - one part it runs OK, then the next it doesn't.

Nice, Hood. Like how smooth it looks despite being that fast.

Anyhow, I think the way you have it now with the IO module at the front with only one canble running from it to the back is better. You got me thinking now though... it's not a cheap solution to not running the buttons wires to the back... but I am leaned towards it now that I see how nice it came out.

Hi Hood,

Panel looks very nice! Is it black anodized aluminium you use for engraving the panels?

Was the only reason for using the extra CSMIO  I/O module your preference to not run the wires from the buttons all the way to the back cabinet? What's the module on the right? Is it the 24V PSU?

Very nice! Have you ever tried this with the ESS? If I do this with the ESS it faults out here. It tracks nicely at times but at times it would fault out - mostly if I increase the SRO.

Is it something that Brian has to take care of?

You mentioned this to CS Lab a few months back so I wonder why they haven't taken care of this yet. Especially when you say it's a simple one.
