General Mach Discussion / trouble with wizards -
« on: June 04, 2006, 11:55:20 AM »

the following are some of my observations and troubles with a couple of the wizards -

the OD groove wizard crashed M3 on two systems -
one has v84.000 and the other 001

one time it crashed so badly on the brand new system that I got with my Sherline lathe, that I couldn't even reboot.  It left a process running that I could not quit from the task manager.  Tried to reboot - but then it would not close down I guess because of the M3 process that would not unload.  Had to reset the system.  Hate to do that to Windows.

The id arc seems to want to cut into -X by .1" -- I went over that one a dozen times trying to figure out why it wouldn't work like I thought it should.  Reset home and x/z 0 several times - still goes negative -- even the code says -X.1??"

any help out there?  Suggestions?  Work Around?

thanks -

in M3 click on the edit button in the 'run' screen -

you can save out individual sections and put them together in one file if you want -

ya it did --

I actually tried that after I'd written -

oddly I have to do that manually if I reboot -

closing and restarting work ok -  but at least I can make it work -

ahhh...  took a little digging but found the profile for the Taig Mill --

big Big but... here guys -

BRIAN ???  -- { I guess three question marks does this - sorry - not mad }

downloaded it and dropped it with the other xml profiles and good, it shows up in the
profile select list --

but when I select and open it I get a blank screen - completely blank -

I loaded it on two different systems and versions -
  84.001 on a new HP system
  90.037 on this Sony system

both version do the same thing - dead blank M3 screen.

Help?

tnx

using M3 lathe Sherline R1.84

loaded by dealer on supplied system from TableTop.

acts the same as my demo copy -

clicking on file - import dxf does nothing at all -

what am I doing wrong?  tried all 3 main screens
