Ill snap a pic tommorow , Its really a neat program. All I am doing is using desk to make a string of text that runs verticaly (could prob do it with the write wizard in mach but havent figured it out) , create the gcode file.

Open it in the wrapper program that budman posted the link to , set the radius of the stock your machining around, choose which axis you want to wrap around the part (either x or y ) and choose convert .  The gcode can be run directly after the conversion .

So far I have only played with stick type font but hopefully after the knob creek maachinegun shoot I can find a little time to play with some other files

Thanks Dave that works like a champ , I like the new profile ideas also , the wrapper software seems to be working fine for now but I might try your method in the near future also

I need to engrave a line of text around a 1 inch diameter tube, I have been using deskengrave to generate my engraving files , machine is a 4 axis with rotary as the axis, how can I easily generate my gcode files

glad you pointed that out, I will change it on mine in the morning , I just assumed the zero buttons did not work . Somewhere i have a list of 3 or 4 little issues with that screen set

smooth stepper landed today , the first one had male db25 and plugged right into my c11 BOB , This one came with female db25 on the cables, will have to figure something out in the morning to plug it into the c11 BOB on the lathe.

How can I set mach up to automaticly rewind the gcode to the begining when I enter estop?

All the commercial controllers I have used and have on other machinery in my shop, they all revert back to the begining of the gcode file when restarting after estop, they have a start from feature so you can choose the block or line you want to start from if you choose to start somewhere out in the middle .

I rarely am on the cycle screen when running parts and have to go over to the cycle screen to click the rewind button and have broken a number of tools when I forget to hit the rewind button after an estop , I am sure its useful to have the gcode file run from the point where you hit the estop button to some but its not std on most commercial machines and I feel like an old dog sometimes

Yep that works, for some reason I thought it would return to g94 after the thread cycle , will just add g94 to my post processor. thanks
