General Mach Discussion / Problem with generated rotary job toolpath.
« on: March 04, 2019, 11:07:42 PM »
I refer to my topic in Vectric forum and need help in order to find out why my generated g-codes gives a different machining toolpath than it was shown in the v-carve softvare.
http://forum.vectric.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=31620&p=228998#p228998

Are there anybody here who can help me with this issue?

General Mach Discussion / Re: How do I configure the A-axis settings?
« on: March 02, 2019, 03:25:42 PM »
I tried the settings that already was in the config. page and after turning the rotary table a full rotation, I calculated the right setting to be 400 steps per unit, and it looks like that is the right one, but I don´t understand how this number could be the right.
Does that mean that I have 2000 microsteps in my drivers?

I need also to know which values to set in the Motor Tuning and Setup/A-axis motor movement profile?
My rotary table requires 72 rotations from the stepper motor in order to move 360 degr. so what do I need to set in "steps per". and the other windows there?

I use the Gecko G540 as driver for the stepper motors..

What do I need to do in order to configure Mach3 to know when the rotary axis has done a full 360 degr. rotation?

In the middle of a job, the z-axis lost some steps and continued engraving 0.5mm deeper. Which kind of settings do I need to adjust in order to avoid that. Will it be best to reduce the speed or the acceleration of the stepper motor?

General Mach Discussion / Re: Best Screenset for Mach3?

I have a Taig mill and a flat bed router. I have had a look at 2010 screenset and it looks good, so I think I will go for that..

What has this topic to do about colors? I wasn´t asking for the most fancy look of the screenset but the best functional and user friendly screenset, so I think this topic seems to develop in a ridiculous and unserious way..

Your IJ Mode is wrong, put a G91.1 on a line of its own at the start of the code and it will look fine.
It can also be changed in General Config but I personally prefer to have it in my G Code as that will ensure it is correct no matter which mode Mach is in at the time of loading the code.

Thankyou very much Hood! You solved this problem for me..
Do you think I need this line also in codes which I generate in Vectric´s V-carve? If so, are there any ways to add this line automatically every time I create new codes with that program?

Here is the image from my win-7 PC. I have no cnc-mill connected to this PC, so I haven´t tried to make a sphere with it, but when I run the program offline, the x an y movements are at the same level. There is not an incremental -x value then.
