Has anyone tried to make PCB using much3, what will be the best value hardware set to work with much3 for making PCB?

General Mach Discussion / Please recommend driving board
« on: August 31, 2007, 06:14:12 AM »
I have retrofitted Dyna 2800, PC with much 3 hooked directly to original Dyna drivers. It was working well, but never consistent particularly in circular cuts. After long investigation, including discussion on this forum, it all came to quality of drivers.

Please recommend drivers for much3 to work with Dyna steppers:
They are made in USA by escape, and have 8 cables coming out of them. Motors data: 1.8 step, 140 watts, serial 0.88 oms 2.3 amps, parallel 0.22 oms 4.6 amps.
Thank you

General Mach Discussion / Spindle S true
« on: November 24, 2006, 05:06:57 AM »
In Spindle S True window I have all the time wrong reading of the speed, Much applies some kind of ratio to true RPM, don't know how to reset it.
In Spindle Calibration and Testing dialogue box the reading is correct (while the box is open Spindle S True shows correct reading as well, but as soon as box is closed S true jumps up). I can see that Pulses per Revolution box is showing 1, I know that there should be 0 because I have only 1 cut in a disk, but can't change 1 to 0 whatever I tried.

Please help

General Mach Discussion / How industrial is Mach
« on: September 29, 2006, 07:32:24 PM »
I find this software great, without it I can’t see how I could make this thing. I have no any engineering background, and before coming across Mach, I would not even dream about making my own parts – any CNCing was seen as distant unreachable and complicated science. Now I still not a “pro”, but can make parts using mach and desktop mill and lathe.
Having parts designed on a laptop in a Kitchen and then shortly after made in a shed – is thrilling.

Now I have very itchy hands to retrofit bigger machine like old Bridgeport or similar.
The question is how industrial is Mach? My understanding is that it is in complete mercy of Window and noticed that once or twice a week it would through some flukes.
Would you gays run reasonable scale production using Mach as a cnc control of Bridgeport etc. retrofit?

« on: September 08, 2006, 04:55:40 PM »
Trying to lern subroutine, when upload this file to Mach3, M99 is not showing and program stops running without calling subroutine. Can't understand what is wrong.

G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / g-code verifying
« on: September 05, 2006, 03:11:15 AM »
There are plenty G-code verifying software packages around, and I was offered one to try out. Will I have any benefits using one before loading into Mach 3.
I am rather new to CNC, just complotted converting of Dyna 2800 and trying to establish what other programmes I need to help me to run my mill with Much 3. I can write basic G-codes and cut simple shapes.
Thank you

General Mach Discussion / which drive
« on: August 28, 2006, 07:26:30 AM »
I am converting small mill (Dyna 2800) to run from MACH3. My steppers are 8 wires 200 steps. Can you suggest suitable drivers to buy. Will it be better to get G-rex (as far as I understand 1 board drives up to 6 axes) or  3 separate drivers, one for each motor.
Thank you

General Mach Discussion / which Breakout Board
« on: June 23, 2006, 06:28:05 PM »
I converted Dyna 2800 and run it from Mach3, i didn't use Geko drives just reconnected Dyna original drivers. In general it obeys, but sometimes throw out flukes (missing steps, not good arc cutting, loosing direction in manual jogging, etc.). After reading posts on this forum it looks like I need breakout board to start with.
Can you please recommend which model to go for.
Thank you
