I see, thanks for that, I was wondering if possibly the USB voltage dropped as I've actually heard of that happening before on certain PC's.

Glad you figured it out and thanks for posting-

Quite some time ago I had a hard time getting my machine to run. Some might remember because I got a lot of help from forum members. I finally got it working but I still kept getting intermitent problems. I finally found the problem. I was using the 5volt supply from my computer power supply. It seems that there was a problem with the power supply. The voltage would intermitently drop to around 3 volts. Strangely enough the PC wasn't effected. I added an external supply and have not had a problem since.

Just curious about this, was the 5volt supply from a USB jack by any chance?

Thanks,
Dave

I'm very aware  ;)

And I understand about input, but I had to stick up for a really good guy and make a little joke of my own as well. I apologize if you were offended, but I even used the smilies to show it was all in fun  :)

And if you've read more from Rich, he's the first one to say that his spelling is not the best, but how can we look a gift horse in the mouth when he's doing all of this work for FREE out of the kindness of his own heart?

Feel free to proofread and rewrite all of his manuals and submit them for all to use. Oh wait, nevermind, I just found a post that you use the trem "puter" and went to your www.english-for-students.com website, but all it gave me was a "no results" message when I did a search for it  ;D

To Rich:

Absolutely not, my friend, you just can't argue with success!  ;D

No worries on the "sucked" description, I'm a big boy  ;)

Interesting Rich, as I'm running a Dell GX270 with an ATI Rage 32Meg video card. It has the Intel P4 2.8GHz, 1 Gig of RAM and also have a second Rosewill parallel card, and runs like a champ.

I also have a gateway solo 9300 Intel Mobile PentiumĀ® III 700 MHz that has been running my new homebuilt router without issues (as of yet!  :D ).

I must say the Dell did not run well with the onboard video though  ;)
