Hey Sam, you must be busy, you haven't been around much, my friend. How goes it?

Ok, Tweaks, here you go. This is from a post I just did on the Vectric forum as well:

I use a tap guide (for threading) and quite honestly, the hardened pointed/ground end works great for this as well, as I used that at first with other projects I've done. I wanted to set it up for a diamond tip though, so I designed an adapter to fit inside with a small set screw to hold what are called "phonopoint" diamonds (cheap!), which are really used for dressing precision grinding wheels on a surface grinder (what I do for my "day" job). It works fantastic and they make the guides with such a nice slip fit, and hardened materials, so it's a quality unit. I've done over 130 drag engravings with it and it's still a perfect slip fit.

(I see Enco doesn't allow hotlinking anymore so here are the part numbers:)

Phono/Single point Diamond: 388-8860

Tapping Guide: 325-5179

Hope that helps-

Thanks fellas, and it is actually a tapping guide that I turned into a spring loaded engraver.

I think I actually posted info about it years ago, but will look again for the pics when I get home from work.

Sometimes it's the quick and easy ones......that are the most fun  :)

Took a moment today to diamond drag engrave this "W" in our clocks' pendulum for a nice little extra touch.

Happy Holidays to all!

Actually, I wouldn't mark them all as "read", that way at least if you get lost, you'll know that you didn't read a certain post.  :)

Well, Ray, since you keep feeling the need to go on, I keep feeling the need to help you  ;)

There are a couple of screen designers just for this situation, that I bet if you were willing to look at, with your obvious intelligence, you'd figure it out in an hour and have that button removed in no time at all. Just make sure you make a backup of the screenset before playing around.

This is the whole point of Mach. It's cutomizable to the user, and the way they like to use Mach 3. Don't like a feature? Just remove it from the screen. Want a feature from another page, but it's not on your preferred screen? Just add it, and away you go, it's that easy.

Hope that helps-

Hi Fred, unfortunately I do not think that is possible, although maybe an Administrator may know how to do something like that and chime in for you.

Personally, I would just start to make a note after I've read a certain topic and then the next time, I would note to the page at the current moment and then add to the current page if the "167" page number grows for you since your last visit.

Fred, when you're on the main page of the forum, you'll see the gray and green icons like these:

The green means there are new posts in that section, and the gray are ones without new posts anywhere in that section.

When on the main page, and at the bottom you click the "Mark as Read" button, any green icons will turn gray.

Now when you choose one of those sections that have a green icon, for the posts that you haven't read yet, you'll see this icon:

When you click mark as read, those "NEW" icons should go away.

Hope that helps-
Dave
