Thanks for sharing, Brian, I actually almost did the same thing as I had an opportunity to grab one of those engraving machines, but waited too long to make up my mind and lost out on it.

Hi Brian,

Thank you for the kind words. While I haven't actually checked with an indicator, it seems I get about .010" depth with 2 passes in 6061 aluminum and probably about .005-.006" in engravers brass. The pendulum was a bit more as it's very thin, and easily manipulated as it's hollow, not solid. 2 passes are better as the first pass sometimes gives "hair-like" burrs that seem to be eliminated on the second dry run pass.
