Hi Chip,

May I ask where you got that version? I thought I had the most up to date (2.58), may I also ask what updates had been made since my version?

Thanks,
Dave

very nice of you, Chip, thank you sir--may I ask what CAD program you have and how you fixed them so that I may be able to do that myself in the future? I have access to Solidworks and I'm sure there's a way to do it, I just haven't figured it out yet.

One more note, you have helped make my wife very happy (she doesn't know it yet), I'll post a pic when I get it finished-

I have an engraving that I wanted to do on a keychain for my wife for x-mas but when I load the dxf in Lcam, it has way too many chains even after I've delleted many of the chains that I didn't want engraved. I've tried to clean it but it doesn't really do that much. Is the only way to fix this, to redraw it? I'm decent at drawing rectangles and machine parts but I haven't really gotten good enough to draw "pictures" with natural curves like this.

I'm uploading the Lcam file and the dxf so if you can help me figure out a way to clean this up, I'd appreciate it.

I kind of figured someone else would've asked about this but didn't see it.

While we're asking (begging? lol!) it would be nice to be able to "pre-size" the text so that it's easy to be able to make a few lines of text without having to guestimate on dragging the window.

Just a thought, would it be possible to add a grid in the background so that when placing items such as text, you could get a better idea of "location"?

Possibly it could be toggled on and off?

Between this and Mach 3, I'm having a ball.....

Ok, success after work today and it was definitely me. I thought I had been deleting the original chain but in fact I wasn't. Thanks again for your help doc, it's appreciated-  ;)

Yes sir, I did just that as I watched the video as well. There's still something going on here that I don't understand. I'm going to try and "trick" the software and use a 1/16th cutter and see what happens. That should actually work but I'll have to wait until I get home from work to try it.

It's still not a fix but if it works, I guess it's the best I can do.....Thanks again for your help-

Thanks so much for your help but I don't understand as that makes no sense to me, shouldn't the offset be for the whole diameter X 2 since I'd like the end result to be .500 and not .375,? The machine ended up cutting just that, .375 diameter just like it showed in the software.

So may I ask how you setup to get the result of .500?

Thanks again,
Dave
