Mr. Grizzly (if that is indeed you're real name   ;)  )

Have a look at all the videos available here. While some are not up to date, they're still very helpful.

Especially the intro to lazycam.

General Mach Discussion / Re: shuttle pro keeps on going by itself
« on: June 07, 2008, 04:35:25 PM »
Mine does the same thing but only when I set it to rapid jogs. Asked Brian about this but he never found anything and since others are working perfectly, I thought it was just me. I bought a brand new one and the exact same thing occurred so I just chose not to use the rapid jogs on the shuttle.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help to you but you are indeed not alone -  :) oh, and yes to those who are about to ask, I did try all versions of the plugin software and no I did not install the company software and followed the install instructions to a "T".  ;)

General Mach Discussion / Half size Parallel port PCI Card?
« on: June 07, 2008, 04:00:12 PM »
I need a half sized parallel port add in PCI card and before I bought one, I thought I'd ask if there was a specific brand that I should use for adding I/O's?

Are they all pretty much the same?

Thanks as always -  :)

heh, you an me both, GCode is something that I'm learning very (VERY!) slowly but with guys here and on the CNC Zone, little by little I pick more up along the way.

Forgive me for sounding like an idiot Rich  :P , you have 3 machines running from one smooth stepper? Or one for each machine? If there's one for each machine, are they all running from the one problematic PC or you just tested them with the problematic PC?

Thanks for that Dennis. I looked over the videos this morning and while it does seem fairly easy to pick up, I still think that even though LazyCam is a beta software, it has so many more options and variables at your disposal for modification of the final G-code including text. I do however LOVE the 1" grid and centerline features of the software and that's one of the things I've asked (and others have as well!) the developers of LCam to implement.

Have you use LCam? I'm interested to see a users comparison of this softare to LCam.

Thanks for sharing -  :)

LazyCam (Beta) / Re: Solidedge2d to Lazycam text spacing problem.

Sure,

These are the steps I do:

Open the program, click file-open and browse for the file. Open the file and "lasso" the whole drawing around the outer rectangle then click the left mouse button which makes all the lines in the image, dotted. Then I go to the top menu to "Express-Text-Explode Text". When you click that, you'll notice that all the block text is now turning into outlined text, right before your eyes, word by word. When it's all done, I click "File-Save as" and a dialog box comes up and under "save as type", I save it as Autocad release 11/12 ASCII (dxf).

That should open up perfectly in your lazycam as I posted for you earlier today. Let us know how it works out-
