'Mach1 filter' will do this job converting .bmp or .hpgl files to GCode (it can be downloaded from the Artsoft site).

Any chance you could point out the link? I must be an idiot as I can't find that! lol!

As always, the work is beautiful!

1-I can't see it simulating doing the holes. It could be that it's too fast to see. Some more info might be required on that.

2-SO, the "drill sel circles" is explained. Now what is "drill rad circles" feature.

3-PS> how did you insert the image in your post.

1- Yes, I think the "cutter" is just a general visionary thing, I don't think it's supposed to be too specific.

2-  Have no idea at this point, hopefully someone will be along to explain it to both of us.

3- You can insert an image when replying. When replying, take notice to the  "'Additional Options...'' link. You can add an attachment when you click it as it gives a few other options as well. If you get an error when trying to upload, it's either too big or someone else has used a file in this forum with that name so you'll have to rename it.

Sage,

I did a screenshot for you of 6 drill points set at .030 above surface and to drill at .100" .

Does your screen look like this?

Thanks for the pics, Rich, and yes, I'll take the bracket (aluminum?) let me know an email to contact you at, and I'll take care of that for you. Thanks again- :)

Chip, the more I'm thinking about doing this, the more I think I should just do it the right way, the first time and I think the sherline is the way to go. It's funny that you posted that ebay screen shot, I have that bookmarked as of this morning-  ;D

I can tell you exactly what I do as I use my PC for my machine and webuse. You can switch back and forth between Standard PC and ACPI PC modes. When switching to Standard PC mode (procedure shown below:), after the computer restarts, I then go into Task Manager and click on the Process tab and then click on the USER Name menu (You) and turn off everything except:

- explorer.exe
- tfswctrl.exe

Leave all the Local Service, Network Service and System settings alone.

Set Computer to Standard PC NOT ACPI PC

1. Right Click My Computer and select Properties
2. Click Hardware tab.
3. Click Device Manager Button in the middle.
4. Double click "Computer".
5. Right click on Standard ACPI PC and choose Update Driver.
6. Choose "Install the software from a Specific Location (Advanced)"
7. Click Next.
8. Choose "Don't search. I will choose driver to install."
9. Click Next.
10. Choose "Standard PC" from the listing.
11. Click Next.
12. Click OK.

Restart and turn off the process' running explained above and you  should    be good to go.

Please understand this works for ME and may not suite everyone. I take no responsibility for your system -  ;)

While I don't run a SS, if I do not use the optimization setup, my laptop will not run my machine at all. Have a look here, it may just be the problem:
