General Mach Discussion / Re: Home and/or limit switch

Glad you got it sorted Kristin-  :)

I also meant to say, try to mount your switches in a manner so that physical smashing isn't possible.

Brett

Unfortunately I was mounting my 3rd limit switch (Y axis) while remembering this so I'll be redoing my Z and X axis at some point in time. If I crash, I have backup switches, lol!

By the way, since I'm hoping to setup for coolant or mist in the future, what small limit switches can I use for that application? These (limit switches in general) aren't all sealed are they?

Thanks,
Dave

Mine actually works exactly the same (verywell) with and without the drivers.

Very odd this PC schtuff- :D

Hi Ray,

I thought when installing Mach 3 it gives you the option to not load the driver?

Oh I'm not doubting you at all, Brian, I'm just saying that for LazyCam in particular, it doesn't like your files.

Not saying your files are wrong, just wrong for LazyCam - ;)

For some reason with ProgeCad, it works very nicely.

Oh, I see, I would actually have to have an AC load present then for it to switch?

Thanks so much, Kristin, I'll give it a try then-  :)

Ok, I'm getting my parts together for a relay box I'm building for my Vacuum pump and I bought 2 Solid-State Relays TD2425 240V 25A (I know, very overkill but really nice units).

Now my question since these have an input voltage of 3 through 32 volts, to test these, shouldn't I be able to apply 12 volts (wall wart) to the input side (posts 3and 4) and take my multimeter and set it for continuity testing and touch the output side and get continuity across those posts (posts 1 and 2)?

It's basically a switch and when it gets voltage, it opens up the AC voltage side, no?

I'm including a pdf of this relay.

Thanks so much-
Dave
