Just wanted to show a pic of an amplifier head plate (and cabinet plate) for a customer that I did.

Drew it up in VCarve Pro and cut out 2 of them today.

They're 4" X 6" and made from bushed black engraving material.

I would think they might be too small for a Taig but a Sherline might be a good candidate -

Hi Art,

Just wanted to show you a bit of actual cutting this morning. It was of a part I showed previously in this thread and it worked out great. As you can see I made the passes pretty small so that it was just take some "cleaning up" to finish. I'll show the finished part another time when I get it done but couldn't wait to post a couple of pics for you.

The toolpath seemed to follow perfectly but I did have some chatter where the side of my toolbit rubbed the shoulder of the material which I knew it would because of my drawing.

For reference, the part is just under 1/2" X 1.312 long and completed on a converted Taig Micro-Lathe.

Again, thank you for helping me (and everyone) get this far along.

Since it had the maple fretboard, it would have been a Model 4M 

Very good guitars and those necks feel great when the clear coat is sanded off and gunstock oil or tung oil is applied -

The Model 7 was actually a tele shaped guitar, I had 3 of them but thinned out to just 2 for the moment -

Hi Sam,

Got any pics of the Ibanez and Charvel?

I have a few but I'll start with the Firecrackle Model 6, which was my first Charvel and still have it as it's just an amazing player and I have sentimental reasons for keeping it.

Rich, dumb question but are you trying to focus the beam at all?

You do realize that the collar screws and unscrews and there is focal adjustment?

Also, distance comes into play here as well so maybe you're too close to the object?
