I may be wrong on this but I thought that you had to have controllers installed in order to be seen by KeyGrabber?

HIYA RICH, THat bold print has not always been there (;-)

Indeed you are correct and I must admit, I felt just as Curtis did at one point.

I bit the bullet and moved over to Vectric products and never looked back and I highly recommend them to anyone learning this stuff as it's truly the easiest to learn and they have the best support as well.

Simply awesome, Chris, thanks for that.  :)

How do you handle the stamping inside the ring?

Great stuff, Chris, thanks for sharing these great pics.

Now for my next question, you can just say "none of your Damn business", but may I ask what something like the gold setting cost to have cast, including material?

Thanks,
Dave

Show"N"Tell ( Your Machines) / Re: Taig CNC Lathe: First Run...
« on: May 19, 2009, 01:05:06 PM »
Thanks again for the kind words.

There are quite a few things I still want to do to the lathe as this setup was just to see how much it would take to get the thing running  :D

Now that I do in fact have it working well, I plan on doing a number of things such as "beefing" up the Z axis screw which right now is a standard stainless steel screw that I polished up so no burrs or anything like that would eat up the Delrin anti-backlash block. The X axis is pretty much stock and has about .005 backlash so I want to deal with that as well. Not a real big deal on a lathe but tight is good.

Yes, I made all the brackets for everything as this was just a "kit" form Taig Lathe which is really a great deal as it does not take a rocket scientist to get up and running. Keep in mind I have a shop where I made all my brackets so unless you have that at your disposal, I guess it could be pretty tricky to do without.

I highly recommend looking at Nick Carters website (cartertools.com) as he has an amazingly amount of info on the Taig stuff.

Hi,

I think Art wrote the original plugin.  I could probably mod it for you.  I based my plugin, the XBox360 Controller on the Shuttle Pro plugin.  It would be a week or so before I can look at.  What kind of bribe did you have in mind?

Lee

Hi Lee,

It was actually a joke but I'll tell ya what, let me know in a PM what you'd need to do it and I would be happy to let you know if it would be worth it to me  ;)

Thanks,
Dave

General Mach Discussion / Ref all command on the Shuttle Pro 2?
« on: May 17, 2009, 02:46:18 PM »
Hi guys, hopefully someone can answer this one for me.

When I first set up my Shuttle Pro 2, there is a command called "Ref all" in the drop down lists for the buttons in the plug-in config menu and I never used it because it seems to be not working correctly. Now you would think this would be the same as the Ref all home function, wouldn't you? Instead, it homes all axis together and when one of the axis homes first, they all stop and the other 2 axis never end up homing.

Is this a known bug or was this done purposely?

I'd like to be able to utilize one of my macro buttons (only allowed 2 on the Shuttle Pro 2) for another program but then I couldn't have the homing procedure macro anymore. Can anyone help with this? Is it possible to get more macro button options on the Shuttle Pro 2?

Thanks so much for your time-
Dave

Mach SDK plugin questions and answers. / Shuttle Pro plug-in mods?
« on: May 17, 2009, 12:14:56 PM »
Is there anyone out there that can do Plug-in mods for the shuttle Pro 2?

Currently there's only 2 buttons that macros can be assigned to and it would be very useful to have more available.

Is this an easy thing to do or do I need to bribe someone?  ;D

Thanks,
Dave

General Mach Discussion / Re: Cut2D and Z-Axis
« on: May 17, 2009, 08:37:15 AM »
What most people do, is, in Cut 2D, set the top of your part to Z=0, and zero the Z axis to the top of your part.

That's the way I set it up.  :)
