General Mach Discussion / Re: bob cad with mach 3 question

Hi Alex,

While someone who uses BobCad may come along and help out here, I would think you'd get a more informative answer at the BobCad forums?

In most Cad programs there's "usually" a way to set your origin so maybe check the help files that come with BobCad on that subject and you may find your answer.

Good luck  :)

Thanks, Chris, yes, that is a simple texture around the edge and I used VCarve Pro for drawing and pathing. To cut, I used my Taig Mill withe 2 different cutters (90 degr. engraving Vbit and .062 endmill) and 3 different path setups.

I've been working on a couple of gifts (pendants) for my wife and daughter and thought I'd share. They're made from Corian and this stuff is really fun to work with and it has that nice vintage glow like ivory. For scale, the jump ring hole is .062.

For my daughter, the guitar pick. She's not a guitar player but a rocker at heart for sure.

For my wife, the oval pendant and it's the #27 intertwined and mirrored with a some engravings all around the edge. The #27 is just a little "inside" thing she and I share together.

Thanks for looking-

LazyCam (Beta) / Re: LazyCam connects unconnected elements

Progecad opened it right up no problems (;-) TP

Agreed, best move I made was to go from AutoCad to free ProgeCAD.

Opens just about everything as opposed to AutoCAD that would hardly open any dxf's download form the net.

Mach3 is a beautiful program and the manuals / videos which are provided for free are excellent. However for the beginner in the CNC arena it is a daunting task and without this forum it would have been impossible for many of us to continue.

I couldn't agree with you more, my friend as I'm also very much a newb in this area. It's not only fun to learn about but addictive as well  ;)

Yes, the numbers you posted are indeed the roadrunner size in inches.

Ask as many questions as you like, the folks here are incredibly helpful and kind and can even take a joke now and then -  ;D  Heck, I may even be of some help once in awhile!

My comment was actually kind of "tounge-in-cheek" as quite a few have not read the manual as the rules are changing all the time anyway.  :D

Look at the Toolpath page, you should see the X Y and Z extents there.

Exactly, and don't forget you can scale it down as well using the scale function. You did read the Mach 3 manual, right?  ;)
