Agreed, and thanks for confirming that for me  ;)

Quick question about this, if I may?

When you go to start up the PC, the stepper motors jump around a bit before Mach 3 actually loads in Windows, so the actual dimensions on the DROs on the screen are not the actual coordinates on the machine, correct?

Thanks,
Dave

Hmmm....I think I understand. So you need something that would only nest the actual toolpath itself so that you don't have to keep selecting all of them.

I see that you asked over at the Vectric forum so it should be interesting to see what they come up with.

Hi Kently,

Possibly I'm misunderstanding but doesn't Aspire have the nesting feature that allows you to copy the part  multiple times to fit in a full size sheet?

Or, couldn't you use the "array" function as well that's available in Aspire?

I have VCarve Pro and it has both the Array and Nesting feature and I would think these functions would do exactly what you're asking.

Hi Dave,

yes, post this in the "General" area of the forum and you'll get more views that way. Somebody else would be better at helping you with this as this is not my area of expertise. As a matter of fact, I have NO area of expertise,  :D

Just a thought, have you tried switching motors and or couplings with another axis to try and narrow the problem down a bit?

Good luck,
Dave

Hi Rich, with the Dell OptiPlex, it really seems to depend on which form factor as well as some of those samller ones are basically laptops in a tiny size tower form.

I have a Dell OptiPlex GX260 which is a full size tower and workhorse  8)

Do you have a mousewheel that clicks down as the 3rd button?  If so, are you holding it down while dragging?

Let's do a little test here. Go onto a webpage or something that has a lot of text. Now click the mouse wheel down once (not holding it) and see if you get that circle with the up and down arrow with the dot in the center. If you don't there's an issue with the mouse. If you do, then just move the mouse closer to you and away from you. Is the page of text scrolling?

If so, there's no reason why 3D should not work, maybe it's a driver issue but I thought all 3 button wheel mice were pretty standard nowdays.
