LazyCam (Beta) / Re: Tool save for Turn

One thing I noticed you have to watch the Project tab to know if the things you are doing are working. Attached are my dxf file and a picture of lazycams competed turn profile and what Mach3Turn did with the lazycams generated gcode.

I'm getting very frustrated. The free version worked just as well as the $75 one. I can't save a tool type, I can't get a dxf file to load twice, when I get one loaded sometimes it won't "clean and convert" and won't tell me if it did of didn't. Sometimes  it won't create a profile but wont tell me it didn't. When once in a while the above all works the gcode file wont produce anything recognizable or machinable.

I just bought Lazycam Pro. How do you save a tool type in the Turn side of Lazycam? I'm also having trouble getting it to give me a useable gcode file of a simple curve like the shape of a bullet. TIA, Ben

I surched both computers and no files like MachLic nor LazyLic. Only the text file on the computer that works. I bought this back in about May 06 and it has never had any problems. But misterious things happen in ones computer when your not looking especialy near haloween.

Mmmmmm odd. I have Lazycam Ver.2.47 and Mach Ver.2.48 on two computers. The only licence I have is titled Licence.txt, Lazylic.data is nowhere to be found. The other oddity is it works on one computer and not the other!

Lazycam (latest Ver.) acts like it does'nt see my licence. MACH 3 Ver. 2.48 runs fine in the same directory. Help please. Ben

Sorry to hear of all the problems and thanks for sharing the adventure with us. Glad it ended well. I hate it when my toys break.  Happy cutting. Ben

In the Nov/Dec 2004 issue of The Home Shop Machinist there is an article on "Building a Model Engine Camshaft Grinder". Hope this will help you with your project. Ben

This is my screen for setting softlimits To use this I move the work to the area where there is anĀ  interference and click the appropriate set button. . The only drawback is you have to click Config/homing/softlimits and OK, but no data entry into the table is necessary, to have them take affect. Since I have a lathe/mill combo and sometimes the lathe chuck or the tailstock is on and my movement is restricted so I needed a easy way to change limits.

Brett, Thanks for the reply. I think you must be right so I'll just move on to another project. Thanks again. Ben
