General Mach Discussion / Turn cant find Set file
« on: March 26, 2008, 11:01:34 PM »
All of a sudden (of course I didnt have anything to do with it) Mach3turn cant find a set file. Even after removing all Mach programs and reinstalling 2.63 Mill does ok but turn, as confirmed by ports and pins, either loads the mill set file or none at all.  Any ideas? Thanks, Ben

Try exploding the DXF file 4 or 5 times. Then load into Lazy Cam.

I drew a curve using Bezier lines and LC wouldn't produce a gcode file. I did the same using a polyline and it worked fine. So redraw your DXF file and see if that works. Ben

I,m no expert so I'll tell you everything I know. In lazycam click "setup" then "Posting options" then as below. Good luck, Ben

Whew, my mouse finger is getting tired. I'm making very slow progress. When I load my dxf file I have to optmize it and thats the only difference I do but the last step turns out wrong. I'm using inches it looks like you are using MM. When I copiec your dxf image to my dxf your on was about 20 times bigger.

Thanks a lot Freddy and Chip for the help because I really needed it. I looks like my main problem is with the Lazycam settings, as you can see below, my results are differnt using Freddy's DXF file.

I'm back. On the left is the dxf file. In lazycam I deleted the right angle lines and left only the curve then finished processing and sent the gcode to Mach3Turn. When I squint my eyes and stand far back the Mach3Turn looks almost like the DXF file. What am I doing wrong. TIA , Ben
