Oh, and Sam, please have a look around  Wink, my shop is your shop, lol!
:D :D :D Now that is funny!

Looks like you have built yourself a very nice machine! I do like that you made it a quiet solid little beast with all those aluminum plates, and did not just rely on 80/20 alone. Two thumbs up for that! Also looks as though you have some great components. Nice screws, linear rails on all axis, cable trays, etc...

Glad to see you back, I hope everything is going good.

Hey Tweakie, I found another converter that looks to be very useful. This time, I won't let you wait for a few years before I disclose the info. ;D I did have to pull a few strings with the secret squirrel society, but no big deal.  I just stumbled on to it a couple days ago, but it looks very promising. What I like most about it is that you type in a value, and it converts it on the fly to all the different units. No more selecting 'convert from this unit, to this unit'.  It is a sidebar gadget for vista or Win7, so it's always accessible, which is also a big plus for those of us that do conversions frequently. It also has some good options, so you can take out the units you would never need, etc...

Oh yes.....it is 100% free.

I would advise against putting any tool into a router that is not perfectly balanced.
I would also advise against slowing down a router with a rheostat.

Or sandwich the piece between two sturdy sacrificial pieces.

;D That's what I call hillbilly engineering at its finest! Somebody had "a little captain in 'em" when that light bulb flashed overhead.  :D  Looks great, Joel. I bet it feels good to see some movement.

Finding one that has already been modified would probably be a better choice, as Graham stated. I have never used the Mach3 post, so I can't say if it will work or not after updating it.  You could also try using the generic fanuc post included with MC. If memory serves correct,(as it's been a time since I used it), it should work just fine. Generally, selecting a post and then learning how to modify it to suit your needs is the best way to go.

Ive never had MC to ignore the G43. It looks as though you are using a post for version 9. Try updating the post using MC. Look in the help file and search for  "update post to current version". Follow the instruction on updating, and try your luck again. As far as the carriage returns go, I don't see anything in your reference post that looks abnormal, except for the absent carriage return indicator "%" at the very end of the file.

What exactly is wrong with the current electronics? Your 100% sure that it is not cost effective to fix the existing system?
