General Mach Discussion / Re: Tool radius not less than arc radius
« on: June 07, 2010, 11:56:06 PM »
1. Use a smaller tool to achieve the programmed radius.
or
2. Use a larger radius in the program.
or
3. Use a combination of both 1 and 2.
or
4. If caused by to short of a lead-in, increase the lead-in distance.

There are a few scenarios that you would get this error. As stated above, it could be caused by to short of a lead-in when applying the tool comp. It could also be caused by a bad choice of tool diameters, or to small of a fillet radius in the part program. If you could post your code, and tell us what cutter your using, we could get a better understanding of what's going on.

I think I'm about ready to get started making one of these. Besides the .02 bristles, is there anything you wished you would have done differently? Adjustable height? Quick release mount? Anything?

Looks nice.
What kind of stone is that?

If I'm wanting something to be smooth as possible when using a ball/bull cutter, I try to use the largest diameter cutter I can get by with.

Thanks for sharing, ostie. I have been meaning to make a sticky topic titled as "show off your workshop" or similar. I just haven't got around to taking any pics of mine own to start the subject off on. This may well be the kick in the pants I need to get motivated. 24X36 eh? Not to shabby! I bet you can't wait to get it filled up with toys. It's amazing how you can always seem to junk a place full of stuff, no matter how big ya make it. Keep the pics coming as you progress!

HAHA! Good one Chris.

Beer in a dish will also attract snails and kill em. Guess it don't take much for them to get alcohol poisoning or something.
