G-Code, CAD, and CAM discussions / Re: Please help a newbie with cad

Hmmmm....25 seems awful close to 25.4 which is what you would get if converting units. I would suspect something got transformed during translation somewhere. Keep in mind, some programs have options that need to be set when you export and/or import file types (dwg, dxf, iges, etc...) Be sure to check the export options in your cad program. Also check that your actually drawing in the correct units.

Nice, Dave. That piece is sure to please your friend. Thanks for sharing. It's always interesting to see how other people go about machining something. I like that you left the sound in. You can get a real feel for how the machine is cutting.

Thanks for the video, Tweakie. Yep, the older I get, the faster the days seem to pass.

Wow, Dave. Those look incredible. The way you put the names on the Harley piece is really creative and unique. Love 'em!

That looks awesome Tweakie. It would be neat to see that being made. (hint hint, nudge nudge)

You do realize that you've now put the "build an engine" on some of our "to-do" list, don't you? I don't know if I should thank you or be disgruntled, because my list isn't getting any shorter. :) Thanks for sharing your build with us.

Looking nice, Amir. I wish I had a surface grinder that large! Those ball screws look very familiar, may I ask where your getting them? Thanks for sharing your project with us.
