Neat stuff Tweakie. I had often wondered how your laser would work on anodizing. That could prove to be very useful with my own projects. I had thought about just simple vector patterns, but seeing the image you done, completely opened up new ideas. Thanks a bunch for posting your work!

Usually, people buy tapered end mills for such things. They can get expensive. Most cam programs can perform such tasks with regular end mills, router bits, or whatever. Of course, your final results regarding the finish quality will usually suffer.

What I meant was, investing in a separate 32 bit machine for solidcam. A good used one can be found very cheap. Most likely much cheaper that any new software. I don't know much about solidcam, but if I understand correctly, it is a pretty good program, and integrates well within solidworks. Would be a real shame to toss it. Best of luck with whatever your decision!

If you already have solidworks, and solidcam, I believe if it were me, I would just invest in a 32 bit OS.
