Tangent Corner / Re: Collets

You should be able to get pretty much any collet you desire. DA, ER series, etc. I think you need to explore other suppliers if your current ones don't offer the selection. I have some NMTB 30 that are ER32, and have seen them pretty much in any combination you could dream up.

General Mach Discussion / Re: 0.8Kw water spindle running with 2.2Kw VFD

Usually, this is not a problem. There should be parameters in the VFD that you match up to the motor. It's pretty common to get a higher rated VFD to accommodate a motor upgrade in the future. I do not know anything about the Huanyang stuff.

If you have the motors from Homann, you should be good to go.

I don't see how motor voltage makes a difference as long as the PSU is also 50v can you please explain.

High speed torque increases as the ratio of the motor power supply to coil voltage increases. Typically, voltage to the motors are between 4-10 times the motors stated value. If your motors are 5V, then 10x5=50, and then your drives are at their maximum rated voltage. If your motors are something like 20v, then 10X20= 200V, which is way more than the drive will handle. If it were me, I would look for something under 5v, and stay away from maxing out the drive.

Nice looking machine Dave! Looks like your building a collection of clamps as well. One can never have to many clamps. Tweakie, my bet goes to Dave as finishing first.

"Gas springs" are the technical name for them. Searching for this term instead, may lead you to better, cheaper sources.
