I wish my first job had turned out as nice as yours
No kidding! I think that the city dump denied my first piece.
Good job indeed!
I am definitely no master in woodworking, as metal is my main interest, but you might get a sharper detail by using a wood that has closed or small pores in it.
Thanks for sharing your work, we hope you post more.

You do not need to manually set the I-J mode in (Config ; General Config ; IJ Mode), if the G91.1 is in the code. You can do both if you like, but it is not required. Whatever is easiest for you.

Hello John,
The units are imperial (inch). The G20 at the top of the code determines this. The "toons.NC" file was meant to fill a piece of notebook paper. I think "WILE E COYOTE.NC" is around 6.5" X 4.5".
As far as the errors are concerned, that was totally my fault with sloppy code. There should be a "G91.1" in there after the first "G90", which sets 'incremental I-J-K mode'.

LOL. I don't think robust has changed its meaning, rather its meaning to some people are vastly different than yours or mine. What's really sad is when you see something like this, and there selling tons of them. That's what is really amazing, and disappointing.

If it makes you feel any better, there's not enough forum space to show all the things that I have sent to the graveyard.

That's pretty nifty, Tweaks. The ideas never stop for you, do they. :)

Very nice. I've always been a fan of engine turning. Looks like you have put allot of care into making a fine piece. Thank you for sharing with us!

Stripped a few myself. Broken a few as well, where the top nut attaches to the bar. Whats really annoying, is when the threaded section of the collet separates from the collet body while tightening the drawbar, leaving you no good way to get the bar unthreaded from the broken collet thats up inside the spindle 3 inches or so. Sorry to jack your thread with stories Ray, but they have to be told when the opportunity presents itself :)
