Machscreen Screen Designer / Cool New Feature
« on: December 27, 2009, 08:04:03 AM »
Hi Klaus,

In the top right hand corner is the box displaying the properties.

Would it be possible to add the two figures together so that a dro displays LEFT EDGE + WIDTH & TOP EDGE + HEIGHT

This would then make a total of 6 dro's

Reasoning i position my box at the required top and left edges but i want the box to finish at the screen edge

Maybe it could be that you could fill in the right edge and this would calculate the width etc

Thanks
Phil

General Mach Discussion / To CV or not to CV
« on: December 24, 2009, 09:34:10 AM »
That is the question.  ;D

If your running a router at high speed yes you want the CV and the headache settings that go with it.

But if your running a mill/lathe is it a waste of time.

Thoughts anyone ?

Would this be possible so that only the originator could edit the screen-set ?

Machscreen Screen Designer / Group Editing Buttons

Is it possible to have a tool-tip appear when the mouse is hovered over the buttons giving a clue as to what they do.

I looked in the help file there were the functions but no pictures of the buttons.

VB and the development of wizards / PLease Help with code

This is the code on a button to zero machine co ordinates

What would be the code to set the dro to another dro

SetMachZero(2)
call SetDRO( 2, 0 )

So that dro 2 is the same as dro 20 as an example

I am sorry but i don't want to learn another app  ;D

General Mach Discussion / Constant Surface Speed On The Lathe
« on: December 07, 2009, 02:13:55 AM »
I am using the latest Lockdown 032 and have just tried using ccs

As i haven't got a spindle that revs to infinity i reach my maximum speed long before the x axis is at zero.

As soon as i reach my max speed the feed per rev progressively slows down as such it will never reach X Zero.

I then tried slowing the ccs speed down and running the code again.

At the diameter that i start, i am running too fast due to the minimum speed of my spindle at this point the feed per rev is showing double what is commanded the FPR slows as it reaches the commanded CCS then back to slowing as i max out at top speed

Is anyone successfully using CCS ?

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Threading on the lathe causes problems
« on: October 26, 2009, 02:10:38 PM »
Ok so my machine has been working nice and today i have been threading

I am using the G76 for threading and the threads seem to be very good.

In between parts i re referenced the machine and this is where the problem lies.

I hit my home switch as normal but it behaved differently when it backed off the switch, i can only describe it as though the motors were re-tuned instead of the normal sound "Eee" i got lazy sound like "Whooa"  ;D ;D

I quit Mach the restarted Mach and it was back to normal

And no this isn't a wind up thread ::)

General Mach Discussion / Tool Changing problems on the lathe
« on: October 09, 2009, 11:44:04 AM »
I had an issue recently using an mpg to drill a hole when doing this i had what could only be described as an un-commanded toolchange mid drill which led to an estop and brown trousers, anyone heard of this ?

I have been trying to run some code but do not understand an un-commanded move after the tool change, below is the code.

Between the tool change and the M03 line the X axis runs towards the centreline the Z stays still, does that seem to be right ?

Then both axis move to the commanded positions on line N180

Now if i stop the program, rewind and run again the X axis will move to a different position ?

All the above was stepping through one line at a time.

OK now i let the program run completely at the end the axis move to the commanded positions BUT THEN THE TOOL CO ORDINATES CHANGE TO TOOL ONE BUT TOOL 05 IS STILL IN THE TOOL DRO. Is that correct behaviour ?

I have tried using my desktop as i am running this on a laptop with SS with the same results

I have the same issue with ver 3.042.029 as with 3.042.023 i have tried changing persistent tools unticked restarting Mach same problem.

Yet another issue is homing, i am using optical sensors and it works perfectly but occasionally it appears that the motors have retuned themselves as it doesn't back of the same distance restarting Mach will cure the problem.

I have completely lost confidence in the machine. :'( :'( :'(

I have attached my XML if someone could help
