General Mach Discussion / Diary idea
« on: February 18, 2010, 01:33:37 PM »
When i first had my lathe under Mach control i was having all sorts of issues.

Now i always like to update but this can get you into trouble when you want to go back to some old settings.

So i made a simple text file called Diary i make a note of any startup issues in Mach status bar with the date and of course add to the diary if i had a control problem that day.

One of these is, Pokeys device not found, although the pokeys still works.

I do this as well if i update any drivers so i know what version to roll back to if i start to get any sudden issues.

If this is deemed a good idea maybe one of the Mods can add it to the members docs.

General Mach Discussion / Bad VB code on a button
« on: February 16, 2010, 06:12:10 PM »
Tool_Num = GetDRO (24)= PWM Base DRO

If Tool_Num <>0 then
Z_Shift = GetOEMDRO (1002)= next to set tool offset
Z_Offset = GetOEMDRO ( 49 )= Part Z Offset DRO
Axis_Pos = GetOEMDRO(85)= Z Machine Coord DRO
Tool_Offset = Axis_Pos - Z_Offset  -Z_Shift
Call setOEMDRO(42, Tool_Offset)= Tool Z Offset DRO
End if

This is what is on the SET TOOL OFFSET BUTTON on page 5 of the standard screen for mill

It's in the Gage Block Height section

I am trying to understand it and i have looked up the dro codes in the XLS file Hood posted

The OEMdro for number 24 is clearly wrong  for in the context its being used for

Can anyone shed any light please.

Machscreen Screen Designer / Editing VB code
« on: February 12, 2010, 08:26:55 AM »
When you open the vb code editor from a button when typing the text is all upper case

Can this be changed so the user can have full control over upper and lower case ?

Ver 1.37D

Machscreen Screen Designer / Highlighted Text
« on: January 31, 2010, 10:13:15 AM »
Klaus

When running the standard mill screen in Mach there are the page buttons at the top of the screen.

The text on them is highlighted for the button that the page is on.

Would it be possible to add that or is there a way to do that already ?

PoKeys / Speed/Feed Fluctuation
« on: January 30, 2010, 12:34:19 PM »
There is a slight fluctuation in the speed/feed control.

Is there a capacitor i can fix to the pot to cure the problem ?

If so what would be the value ?

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Mach3 bug ?
« on: January 29, 2010, 03:40:48 AM »
This relates to a mill using ver 036 and PP

I made some gcode with some G43's the program on first loading runs through and doesn't throw any errors.

The first toolchange goes OK "Manual" when i come to the next toolchange the program halts after i hit cycle start with SOFTLIMITS MOVEMENT ABORTED

This is nothing to do with the tool length as i changed the tool length to 2mm

If i comment out the G43 it will run OK

If i take out the T06 it will run OK with the G43 line in

The G43 line is G43 H2 D0

Has anyone else gotten over this problem ?

PoKeys / Feed & Speed Over Ride
« on: January 27, 2010, 09:30:21 AM »
Are there any how to's to set these up.

The manual is very clear how to add a switch, i would like step by step info on how to get the pots working.

Again very easy to connect the pot but then what ?

General Mach Discussion / Toolpath screen issue
« on: January 19, 2010, 07:02:01 AM »
This is probably my setup but i will ask anyway.

For the last few updates of Mach while i have been moving the model in the toolpath window, i have found that it can completely shut down Mach and go to the desktop ?

Also with the latest versions of the Pokeys also, upon Mach start-up it will say no Pokeys found but the Pokeys is actually working

This is a laptop with a motion control device. ;)

I am just about to start using ver 036 Hood says it for weird computers & i think mine fits the bill. ;D

Does anyone know what has been updated as the changelog doesn't give any details.

I guess all the Moderators & Administrators are busy with their love in.  ;D
