As you can probably tell, I am totally new to this CNC aspect. Trying to learn as I stumble along. The program I sent you is awesome now. I just have to resize it , depending on quilt size, and also start on left side of pattern instead of right. What program did you use to modify it, would Lazycam do that? I guess it working with layers?? I have some studying to do obviously. Thanks again, greatly appreciated.

Hello members....i'm not sure if this post is in the right area but here goes.
I've converted my wife's 10 foot longarm quilter to Mach control....well, almost. X and Y axes work great while using arrow keys on the  keyboard. But I have an issue with control, as follows.
I have an edge to edge pattern that I converted to G-code with Lazycam. These patterns have a starting point and ending point and are intended to be repeatable across the width of the quilt. The profiles that are with the Mach3 download won't work because they don't follow the continuous line that's in the design. They jump all over the place. You can see this on the "Z" DRO. Tried plasma and turn profiles without much luck.
I guess this involves a specific profile for quilting........designed to follow the continuous line from start point to end. My question is, I guess, what is involved in creating a new profile to handle that job.
Between a rock and a hard place right now....any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've been working on an issue with a friend's cnc plasma setup that he bought new. One of the cables to the X axis got damaged. All the shielded cables are very long, like probable 30 feet. So i repaired this cable by removing most of this length, maybe 20 feet and it's still plenty long. However, the motor works fine but the cable gets very. Was the idea of long cable to add resistance into the circuit? The cable is a 4 conductor, shielded with maybe a 22 AWG wire size. Can I replace it with AWG 18? The driver amps is set at lowest value. I'm an industrial electrician but totally new to this CNC stuff.
Any help greatly appreciated.
