Gentlemen,
Could someone point me in the right direction. We are retrofitting a machine which we want to contol the poisition of a tool spindle mounted on a post. WE have the mechanics worked out, now I would like advice on creating a screen which would allow us to move the spindle up and down and left to right. Is there a way to modify a machscreen to do this?
We would also like a way to store these settings for retrival for furture setups.

Thanks, Mark

Yes, That describes it perfectly. So what sort of driver is required?

Thanks

Hi Hood,

No the feeling is not like that of a bad bearing at all, the motor shaft rotates smoothly. I think there must be some kind of magnetic stator.

Thanks

Hi Hood,
The cogging action feels more like every 1 degree, almost like a MPG.

Thanks, mark

Hi Guys,
I have a AC Servo motor, labeled Velconic AC Servo, the motor has 3 power leads and also what appears to be an encoder attached to the end. The encoder shell has 7 twisted wire pairs on the wiring harness, when I rotate the shaft by hand it "cogs" almost like a stepper motor.. The model # is RA13M1-0200E 13M1-0200E. Anyone know type of motor this is and what sort of drive it would need?

Thanks

Hi Guys,
Has anyone had any luck running Mach3, on a 300mhz processor?
I would like to control one axis at a time, no coordinated axis movements.

Thanks in Advance

Hi All,

Sounds like you are dealing with a resolver, different animal.

Hi Chip,
In fact I do see the cordinates change as well as the "Blended Speed", by the way what is the meaning of Blended Speed?  What does it represent?

Thanks, Mark

Hi Hood,

The outputs I am referring to are on the Diagnostics screen. When I jog an axis shouldn't the step and direction pin LEDs light up on the symbol that represents the Parallel port?
