Hello All,
I have a newbie question, As I understand, Mach 3 can read encoders an send that information to the DRO's and that this will require the use of the second Parallel Port configuration. I am not sure of the resolution of the encoders, although there is a label stating .01mm. How do I find the resolution of these encoders and will the PP interface be fast enough to catch the pulses from the encoders. This will be used in a manual operation.

Thanks

Works in progress / Jog and Teach screen
« on: April 08, 2014, 03:56:19 PM »
Hi Folks,
Is there a way to make a screen where I would jog and test a cut and then record the positions with the teach function.
I have a machine where I would like to position the spindle essentially with a Y and Z axis.

Thanks

Gentlemen,
I have had a licensed copy of Mach3 on my computer for a number of years. I now would like to move the software and license to the PC that I am using for my Bridgeport retrofit. How do I accomplish this?

Thanks

Works in progress / Simple input and display

Gentlemen,
Could someone point me in the right direction. We are retrofitting a machine which we want to contol the poisition of a tool spindle mounted on a post. WE have the mechanics worked out, now I would like advice on creating a screen which would allow us to move the spindle up and down and left to right. Is there a way to modify a machscreen to do this?
We would also like a way to store these settings for retrival for furture setups.

Thanks, Mark

General Mach Discussion / Motor/driver ID
« on: November 18, 2009, 08:48:24 PM »
Hi Guys,
I have a AC Servo motor, labeled Velconic AC Servo, the motor has 3 power leads and also what appears to be an encoder attached to the end. The encoder shell has 7 twisted wire pairs on the wiring harness, when I rotate the shaft by hand it "cogs" almost like a stepper motor.. The model # is RA13M1-0200E 13M1-0200E. Anyone know type of motor this is and what sort of drive it would need?

Thanks

Hi Guys,
Has anyone had any luck running Mach3, on a 300mhz processor?
I would like to control one axis at a time, no coordinated axis movements.

Thanks in Advance

General Mach Discussion / New Mach3 install

Hello fellow  Mach  users,

I have recently upgraded win2000 to win2000 SP4, and now I don't see any outputs on the Diag. screen  when I jog an axis.  Is there a patch or plugin needed to fix this?

Thanks

General Mach Discussion / Newbie Question
« on: October 20, 2007, 09:52:39 PM »
Hi Guys,
I've been  watching the forum for awhile and have finally invested in a PC and Mach3 to do a retrofit to an older Bridgeport mill presently running an Anilam control  circa 1980's vintage. Anyways I haven't been able to get any response to the CNC4PC breakout board. I have the Mach3 running fine, the diagnostics page shows outputs on the  step and direction pins, and I have 5  volts powering the board,   the enable pin is powered and the chargepump on the breakout board is disabled, checked the parallel port address, everything appears to be as it should. When I use the MDI function and type a simple G0 move I can see the DRO scroll though to the proper disatnce  but no LEDS light up on the coresponding step and direction  pins on the breakout board.

Thanks, Mark

General Mach Discussion / Anilam Crusader 2 retrofit
« on: September 21, 2007, 04:23:30 PM »
Hello All,
I have a question about a retrofit I am attempting to an old 80's vintage Bidgeport with a 3 axis Anilam control. The existing motors are DC servo motors with tachometer feedback to the servo amps, I think the linear glass scale encoders feedback to the Crsader control. I am planning on replacing the amps with Gecko amps and eliminating the tachs and using rotary encoders in their palce to provide feedback to the Gecko amps. I guess I am wondering whether to eliminate the existing linear scales or do I use hook them directly to the PC running Mach 3?

Regards, Mark
