hi daniel

thank you

if i want to sync my X axis with the Spindle... to cut from round to square or something like this... is the a and b channel needed right?

or is mach3 for this not the choice?

i hope you understand what i mean.

the next question is.... how to connect , config and use channel a and b?!

thanks

Hi!

i need a little bit help..

i run a standart Emco Compact 5 with Mach3.

Yesterday i machine a Disc with one hole to insert a magnet.

This disc is mounted to the Spindle.

I use a Hall Ic to get the Rpm/Spindle Position.

Its 1 pulse / rev.

then i found a encoder with only A B Channel.

what is now better?

Encoder 600 lines 1 rev
Hall ic with magnet 1 pulse rev

both together?

i set the prescale to 600 and get no threads i get crap.

with the 1 pulse all work fine.

is it a configuration problem?

thanks

General Mach Discussion / Mach3 Using 2 Axes both slow down?
« on: December 20, 2020, 06:38:20 AM »
Hi!

I am new with mach3.
I built a desktop cnc mill with grbl as controller.

Now I convert a mini lathe to cnc.
The lathe is a emco Unimat3.
Its a Toy:) and for me its a project to learn more about cnc turning.

I got one Problem!
If i drive 2 Axis in the same time both will slower if i drive only one Axis.
The Distance is correct! I dont loose steps! Only the speed goes down on both axis.

example:

I drive the Axis over the Arrow Keys on the Keyboard.

I drive Z in - and hit then + X the Z axis speed goes little bit down.
when i release +x the Z Axis speed up.

My Setup:
A Thinkpad X61 with Dock and WinXp/Win7 in Standart-Pc config

ParallelPort

Tb6600 drivers at 1/4 Steps and 1.5A/1.7A peek

Nema17 Steppers 1.7A with Gt2 belt Ratio 2:1

32V 5A Labor PPowersupply on 30V

Shielded wires between Tb6600 an Parallelport

Shielded wires between HomeSwitches and Parallelport

Shielded wires between IndexSensor and Parallelport

My Kernel Speed set to 100khz after testing with drivetest

My Motor Tuning is:
Steps/mm 1600 (microstep 1/4 ratio 2:1)

Velocity 300
Accleration 50
Step pulse 2us
Dir pulse 2 us

Step and Dir with 2us is incorrect or?
Tb6600 datasheet said minimum 2.2us.

Is this the failure? a change to 3us brings nothing.

thanks for help!

i want it not together.

thanks for help!!

i read it in some threads and see it in a video.

for me its interesting to drive AAxis as Spindle.

thanks

General Mach Discussion / Mach3 How to use A Axis(Stepper) as Spindle?
« on: October 15, 2020, 09:18:56 AM »
hi!

i have bought a rnr motion control eco v2 usb unit.

this unit not support dir/step on spindle.

now i want to use my A Axis as Spindle.
my A Axis is a Nema34.
i know that a stepper is not a good choice.
i want to test something and play arround.

i read that SwapAxis(3,6) change the A Axis to Spindle.
but if i enter this in the commandline in Mach3 i got an error.

how is the swapAxis function to use?
where do i enter it?

thanks
