You will be making chips in no time  8)

Thats the problem Brian, I'm yet again making chips, but on another machine!   Damn customers won't leave me in peace!

Didn't get the turret refitted but I did get a chance to fite the new cabinet on the back of the machine.   Quite amazing the new one is 600x600x350mm the original had double doors and I swear two grown men coulda stood up in there!

Wayne, what did you type in to get that screen full of info.? How are the cublocs working?

From the command prompt I just typed IPCONFIG /ALL <enter>

The cublocs!  Well not had much time recently.   Been concentrating on the Hardinge in other areas.  I'll get back to it.

I left my G100 at it's original IP address and Subnet mask.

I run two NIC's one at 192.168.0.x and 255.255.255.0 subnet

The g100 is left as it was and it's NIC set to the same ip range and subnet mask.

I think having both on the 192.168 range is going to cause you issues, but then I'm no networking guru either.

Firewall is turned off for the G100 NIC only.

Well at last I got those damn expensive 5 port valves fitted in, plumbed and wired!

Been a long haul that job!

Hopefully can get the turret and encoder refitted on the w/e, then I can apply air and check it alll works still.

This week got most of the upper enclosure grit blasted.    Just got to finish DAing the external surfaces and then off for powder coating.

Hood.  The top was indeed cnc turned, on the one machine I do have running!

Hmm the bonding!   Kinda a trade secret;)   Acetal is VERY difficult to bond to ANYTHING.  But it involves an adhesive, a  sloppy lefthand interupted thread! (Enough clues?)

Don't know if you all remember the little video of the radcaps.  Well I just finished a small batch, and they have turned out pretty well I think.

The threadmilling vid was for this job too.   I won't threadmill them next time though as I hope the hardinge will be running by then, that machine will be a lot quicker.  That all depends on spindle syncing with the G100 of course ;)

Anyway here's little pic.

A few suggestions for what it's worth.

Although you have a simple breakout board it's unbuffered and your PC seems to be along way from your machine.

I don't see any screened cables in that box?   Particulary your encoder cables ought to be screened even better use twisted pairs.

You also have many potential antenne in that box ;)   Well routed cabling goes a long way to eleviate problems.

Brian

But then would the outputs be re-enabled on the subsequent cycle start?   Never had need to try it so don't know.

Could be a recipe for disaster it they were not ;)

It would not be normal to have them stop in a feed hold situtation. unless you manually stopped them.

Most controls have a manual override for both ie Coolant On OFF Auto.  Spindles would normally just have off and on but should not be able to be turned off with the machine in motion.
