General Mach Discussion / Taig Mill not that precise Please Help

Hi Guys

Having trouble with my cnc Taig mill, have mach3 latest revision and i am trying to machine a precise part for a model jet engine talking sizes at 0.01, in mdi i type in a value say 6.37 for example and my machine will travel that distance on the odd occasion other times it will be short by 0.02 or more, backlash is enabled. With the backlash that sometimes ends up out by .1 or so when it comes back to its original point. Can someone please help me? Also when trying to cut a circle with backlash enabled the circle ends up with a short for a better word "nobble" on both sides due to the backlash overcompensating? im not sure.

General Mach Discussion / Steppers stalling occasionally

Hi All

Been playing around with Mach3 and my new Taig for some time now but am having problems, i can jog my machine on all axis fine, everything is wired up correctly, driver test gives a clean line with only a few spikes now and then, am running a laptop Dell D600 1.6Ghz 576mB ram, but occasionally the motors just stall every time or they will miss a step.

Settings:

Running on 3 260Oz/In steppers, 50V Drivers

Velocity: 700
Accel: 27
step pulse: 9
on all axis

1/2 Sherline pulse mode is on
Went through Arts XP tweak guide and done all operations!

I took my Taig apart, cleaned and re lubed it, adjusted the gibs to a good spot i feel. When i come to machining a part it will stall either when it rapids or cutting at the calculated feedrate of 298mm/min through aluminium at a 1.5mm pass at 6900rpm. also all of the axis miss steps and mess up my expensive stock.

Can someone Please HELP AAAHHH!! lol

Post Processors / Mastercam 9 & 10X Mach 3 Postprocessor

Hi guys

i found this mach3 postprocessor for mastercam 9 and i converted it to the mastercam x format through the mastercam software which it allows you to do so and here it is:

Mastercam X format is attached

It supports 3 or 4 axis machines!
