General Mach Discussion / Re: mach3 loses contact

DROs  stop when motors stop, they dont make any noise functioning ok.
Set the motorsettings very low : no change.

Have an extra (Image) harddisk with original functioning software mounted and problem  remains the same.

I just do not understand why everything seems to function ok  when i approach my mill with M3Turn .

Even more complicated when i say that i use the same Pc, drivers and hardware in switchablemode for my lathe and mill.

The hardware all functions ok on my Lathe with LatheMach3

I can however i approach my mill with Mach3Lathe and then i can jog normal.

General Mach Discussion / mach3 loses contact

Hi All,

I am working with Mach3 for 4 years with no major issues.

Now in jog mode (and program mode as well)  M3 is loosing contact with its steppingmotors after a few seconds/steps (random) .

After each try the steppers start for a short while/distance and then stop with no obvious reason.

Grateful for any help..

Mark

General Mach Discussion / Output noise over 1,14,16 and 17
« on: December 30, 2007, 10:58:07 AM »
I run a dedicated Mach3-only computer , Xp-optimised, with a Breakoutboard.

With  Mach3  already started , i switch on the power to the breakoutboard.

Then i hear a electrical noise that makes my outputs  1,14,16,17 outputrelays  come on  and off
mostly with seconds interval but sometimes with a higher frequency.

It sounds just  like the earlier days parrallel printer initializing at switch on.

It Takes the system a fewl minutes to settle down, and then all is Ok.

As i use the outputs for spindle-control , i am looking for a cure....
