General Mach Discussion / Re: Mach 2/3 camera
« on: June 24, 2006, 08:15:47 AM »
Mr.Waterworth,
Thanks for the link, I'll give it a try. Looks to be what I'm looking for.
Is any one doing this type of remote control successfully?

Mr. Barker
Do you think Mach will be interrupted by:
streaming video, sending it wireless to the web and possable record the video
(I was also thinking of setting up a tiny camera focused on the bit as well)?

Guess I could give it a try, but wondered if anyone is doing it now.

I'd like to use a USB Cam with a chat program, so I can converse with others while I'm working on projects, also to host times that others can view the machine.

General Mach Discussion / Mach 2/3 camera
« on: June 24, 2006, 04:33:53 AM »

I've been using a wireless cam to keep an eye on the machines while I work in my office.
It works very well, I can see and hear the machines while I work in my office.
The camera has a built in server so it's not hooked into the computer. (also I can record and others can view the machines from a web page)

What I was wondering is if any one uses a cam/camera on the same machine that controls there cnc and if they have had any issues? I noticed that Mach2/3 has some type of camera plug'in. Does having a cam hooked up cause allot of CPU usage.

One great thing as a request is to be able to remotely/network control of Mach2/3 via another computer. It would be helpful to load another program or pause the machine from my office computer. ;D

I was wondering if buying the:

"Campbell Designs" "Breakout Board Plus
for Mach2 and Mach3"
would solve the voltage problem caused by new computers and what other advantages there are to having it or if it helps with allot of problems people are having?

X-39" Y-24.5" Z-5"

Pulley

Ratio is 2:1 on X and Y
Pulley made of Aluminum

Frame Features:

Structure is CNC machined 6061 aluminum and extrusions
6061 Billet Machined Aluminum
X and Y Axis uses 20mm THK style linear rails/blocks (4 Blocks for X and 2 for Y)

Z Axis Details:

5" Travel comes with Linear Rigid Rails and Hi-Tolerance Ball screw of .001 Tolerance
Servo Controller Details:

3 to 4 Servo Motors with feedback encoders.
Geckodrive G320 servo controller

Method13,

I've posted a XML file for the K2 39X25 here:
http://machsupport.com/forum/index.php?board=7.0

I've also made a screen set that will work very well with the K2CNC and Mach 3
http://machsupport.com/forum/index.php?topic=602.0

One of my machines that I have is the K2 39X25 same set up as you. I'm getting around 150-200 IPM with 0.002 accuracy. Let me know if the setup file gives you these speeds.

Darc,
I hope you upload your screen. ;D
I'm also interested in whats different between the two screen designer programs, also what is Screen tweak for?

Mach Screens / Wave file test
« on: June 11, 2006, 08:09:44 AM »
Benny & Hood,

Here is a sound test screen. If you have time test it out and let me know of any bugs. I think having sound adds allot to the interface.
I've been  pretty consumed with work lately and I'm also waiting to see which direction Mach's screen designer goes before I invest time on the next screens. Hopefully Flash will be incorporated soon.

I used my voice and some sound effects just to see how it would turn out.

*Almost forgot: The "macropump.m1s" goes into your profile location.

Everthing has audio, Dwell, X, Y, Z limit and zeroing, Off/On Line, Spindle On/Off, Softlimits Ext.
You can see all the code in the VB script BNT editor or in the Macro if your intrested.

Here are some very good programs made by very talented people.
James Booth is one of my favorites. ;D Macho talented!!!

General Mach Discussion / Re: Which version of Mach3 should I buy?
« on: June 09, 2006, 11:43:42 PM »
MJR,

Here is the newest version of Mach 3:

Mach3 Release 1.84.001  (Release Lockdown)  http://www.artofcnc.ca/DownLoads.htm

When you pay for the license you can use any software on the download page you want. You can have Mach 2 and Mach 3 and run both if you'd like. This company lets you have your cake and eat it to ;D

General Mach Discussion / Re: RunLoop Macro Error
« on: June 08, 2006, 11:45:37 PM »
Art,

Thank you for taking time to responding ;D
If any thing rings a bell, great!!! otherwise I'll figure it out.

-When I have unchecked "RunMacro Pump" I do not get the error.
-I have Adobe, Macromedia, Microsoft Office, MYSQL... loaded on my computer that might be trying to attach to the Macro?

-No " Macropump" code will responed,
but when loading it to my other computer everthing works fine.

-My Dwell LED will be lite after opening Mach 3 on both computers,
but I know it's not active and will go to its off state after going and coming back to another page.

-If I try to add code to the E-Stop it will not work or acts strangle ???

If you have any time here are the 3 simple codes I'm using to call on wave files:

This is on the Macropump:

Public Declare Function sndPlaySound Lib "winmm.dll" Alias "sndPlaySoundA" _
(ByVal lpszSoundName As String, ByVal uFlags As Long) As Long

'Estop
If GetLED (0) Then

sndPlaySound "C:\WINDOWS\Media\Machwave\Emergencystop.wav"
End If

'Dwell
If GetOEMLED (813) Then

sndPlaySound "C:\WINDOWS\Media\Machwave\DewllingMode.wav"
End If

'Toolchange
If GetOEMLED (806) Then

sndPlaySound "C:\WINDOWS\Media\Machwave\ToolChangeActive.wav"
End If

'X +imit 828
If GetOEMLED (829) Then

sndPlaySound "C:\WINDOWS\Media\Machwave\XLimit.wav"
End If

'Y-Limit 831
If GetOEMLED (832) Then

sndPlaySound "C:\WINDOWS\Media\Machwave\YLimit.wav"
End If

'Z-Limit 835
If GetOEMLED (834) Then

sndPlaySound "C:\WINDOWS\Media\Machwave\ZLimit.wav"
End If

This is the code for sigle button wave state:

Public Declare Function sndPlaySound Lib "winmm.dll" Alias "sndPlaySoundA" _
(ByVal lpszSoundName As String, ByVal uFlags As Long) As Long

    sndPlaySound "C:\WINDOWS\Media\Machwave\LoadGCode", &H1

    DoOEMButton (216)

This is on the two state button:

value = GetVar(1)

Public Declare Function sndPlaySound Lib "winmm.dll" Alias "sndPlaySoundA" _
(ByVal lpszSoundName As String, ByVal uFlags As Long) As Long

If value= 1 Then
Call SetVar(1, 0)
DoOEMButton(103)
sndPlaySound "C:\WINDOWS\MEDIA\ding.wav", &H1

Else
Call SetVar(1, 1)
DoOEMButton(103)
sndPlaySound "C:\WINDOWS\MEDIA\tada.wav", &H1
End If
